FAME Review: Cosy Sheridan - Live at CedarHouse

What can I tell you about Live At CedarHouse? Does Cosy at her best sound too trite? Witty? Engaging? Funny-as-hell? Hell yeah! But the truest, most resonant accolade I can drop on you is … sincere.

Yes, sincere. Can you even begin to imagine the last time a reviewer used that word, and meant it?

With her Baez like clear clarion and wonderful, intuitive humor in glorious abundance, I honestly can't say which of these twenty-six tracks (12 intros/stories leading into 14 songs) I like best. The Land of 10,000 Mothers is just as enthralling as the intro to, and the song George and His 88 Keys. Then there's her highway rap leading into the irreverent yet revelatory The Ladies Room. Botox Tango' anyone? The Introvert Waltz perhaps?

Subtly backed by the ever reliable TR Ritchie - bass, vocals; Kent Allyn - piano, bass, guitar, vocals; and Eric Halters on vocals, each song, especially Some Fires, How Will The Center Hold, Too Much Time and the above-mentioned The Land of 10,000 Mothers and George and His 88 Keys become those special moments we all wish we could have been there to have experienced first hand. Quite possibly Sheridan's best.
